"If you wanna do data science, learn how it is a technical, cultural, economic, and social discipline that has the ability to consolidate and rearrange societal power structures."
Data is everywhere and something you will need to understand and master in almost any job. Understanding data, the power and weaknesses of data will help you make better decisions and it might even become a career path for you. Test your skills and learn how to make sense of data in this 3-week course.
What is the difference between ordinal, continous, and categorical data? We start out with some basic understanding of variables and the PPDAC cycle.
Once we know the variables and data we work with, we will dive into initial analysis of standard deviation and what that means as well as other data analysis concepts.
Not all data are equal, so what makes data valid and reliable and why is that important to understand when analyzing data. Your perspective on surveys will really change at this point!
Data can be overwhelming and data visualization is critical to master to be able to communicate the results of your analysis. We work with scatter plots and various charts and learn some simple presentation methods.
You will fill out a big form that uses the PPDAC cycle and use the 'data science sandwich' to explain how their problem would be communicated to their team.
