Hacking the Glass Ceiling: Tech Solutions for Gender Equality

Dec 8 - 10th, Impact Hub Istanbul

The Istanbul Social Innovation Hackathon challenged developers, designers, entrepreneurs, humanitarians and gender advocates to develop tech-based solutions addressing gender equality issues. Developers hacked the glass ceiling and stood together with women and girls around the world! In partnership with UNDP Turkey.

Social Innovation for Refugees

July 2017, TechHub Erbil

The Erbil Social Innovation Hackathon brought together more than 50 developers, designers, social entrepreneurs, and community members to build creative technology solutions to help improve the lives of refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs) in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. The hackathon was organized in partnership with IOM and Zain Iraq.

WOMEN IN TECH SUMMIT 2017

December 2 - 3, 2017

Re:Coded, in partnership with FiveOne Labs, launched a Women in Tech and Entrepreneurship Summit in Erbil, Iraq! The Summit, supported by Zain Iraq, brought together inspiring female leaders and innovators across Iraq to explore opportunities for women in technology and entrepreneurship in the region through inspirational keynotes, panel discussions on technology and entrepreneurship, and skills and career development workshops.

REFUGEE CODE WEEK ERBIL 2017

 

Scratch Training for Refugee Youth

October 15 - 22, 2017

In partnership with SAP, Re:Coded ran the inaugural Refugee Code Week across Turkey and Iraq and trained over 85 trainers in Scratch and introduced coding basics to 240 children and youth living in both camp and urban locations. RCW enabled volunteers to give technology skills to children and enable them to thrive in the 21st century.
