About Re:Coded

Re:Coded is nonprofit organization registered in the United States, with operations in Iraq, Turkey and Yemen. Our mission is to prepare conflict-affected youth to enter the digital economy locally and internationally. Since 2017, we have trained more than 1000 children and young adults on digital skills like coding, graphics design, and digital marketing. Around 80% of graduates from our bootcamps who seek employment after graduation find work within 6 months. Our activities include coding bootcamps, entrepreneurship training, a co-working space, and tech workshops and events.

Who We Want

Re:Coded is seeking an individual with strong communication and organisational skills to support a new digital skills training program for women in the Ninewa Governorate. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating program logistics, supporting trainers, liaising with program partners and other stakeholders, engaging the local business community, and providing career and life coaching to participants. The position will be based in Qaraqosh, with travel to Erbil.

Key Responsibilities

Program Logistics and Administration

  • Work closely with the Program Manager in Erbil and trainers to coordinate the daily tasks of the digital skills program, giving support to students and keeping documents organized.

  • Document and follow up on important action points made in meetings.

  • Build relationships with local vendors, purchase items and document all purchases.

  • Organize informational sessions, community events, and graduation ceremony, coordinating logistics, catering and other necessary tasks.

  • Work closely with the team in Erbil and the United States on communication and marketing, making sure we are sharing stories from the program on social media according to our brand and privacy policy.

Career Coaching

  • Share with students information on career prospects in the local market.

  • Give career coaching and advice to students during and after the program.

  • Prepare and share resources to help students make better career decisions.

Employment Outcome

  • Conduct market research in Qaraqosh and surrounding cities on businesses needs for social media marketing.

  • Conduct market research in Qaraqosh and surrounding cities on demand for photography services, particularly wedding photography.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local businesses, engaging them during and after the program.

  • Work closely with the Program Manager to facilitate employment and career progress opportunities for graduates.

  • You are an incredible communicator - online, in-person and everything in between. You’ll be able to keep the team up-to-date with any news.

  • You’re plugged into the local community in Qaraqosh and can easily start a conversation with local businesses about the talented women in our program. 

  • You love talking to people and will not hesitate to jump on a phone call if there is an employment opportunity for our graduates.

  • You have a positive attitude and love to help others.

  • You are extremely detail-oriented, organized and proactive. This means you think about every little issue before it comes up and are always planning ahead, and you like to come up with ideas about how we can be more efficient and better.

  • You’re extremely reliable, responsible and productive. You won’t rest until every task on your list is completed and you won’t need to be reminded about what you need to do. 

  • You demonstrate integrity, dependability, accountability, self-awareness, work ethic, and empathy.


  • At least 2 years of work experience in an assistant, coordination or similar role, preferably with a government development agency or NGO.

  • A good knowledge of local businesses and market demands for digital skills and photography.

  • Strong computer skills and ability to easily navigate all platforms within G-Suite and Microsoft Office.

  • Strong working knowledge of communication tools like Slack and Trello.

  • Fluent English and Arabic. Working knowledge of Kurdish a plus.

  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment and thinks of herself/himself as a self-starter. 

  • Is ready to get her/his hands dirty in any unexpected task that may come up, whether that’s jumping in as a trainer or helping problem solve with a student.
