Say hello to a new Re:Coded!

Today, we’re launching our new brand and website with fresh colors and a redesigned logo! Let’s be honest - it kind of feels like breaking out of a shell. We loved our old brand and we put a lot of thought and intention behind it, so we wanted to take a minute to explain how we got to the point where we felt it was time for something new.

Our mission is to empower the next generation of tech leaders and we didn’t feel that our old brand expressed that idea in full. So we decided to put the dusty blue and golden hues to rest and relaunch with a bold set of colors, abstract graphic elements and a new logo.

The idea behind the brand identity is to reflect the dynamic and holistic spirit of Re:Coded. The starting point was with the name itself. Our name Re:Coded implies an act of redefining and rewriting one’s future through learning and community, regardless of circumstances.

We wanted to emphasize the colon punctuation mark in the name and use the dots as graphic motifs that represent our international and growing community around the world. The bright and contemporary color palette, along with varying combinations of abstract shapes, captures our optimism and adaptability as an organization.

The essence of the Re:Coded spirit exists within the people. Human growth and flourishing is at the center of everything we do. Our new branding visually ties together our community around the world, independent of geography, united by a strong mission.

The new brand identity also marks the next stage of growth for us as an organization. When we launched our first program in Iraq in 2017, we were a small and mighty team of 5 with a lot of ambition and heart. We believed then, as we do today, that talent is universal but opportunity is not. We wanted to change people’s lives by enabling them to join the digital economy. Fast forward nearly four years, and we now have 45 talented and ambitious team members from 14 different countries implementing programs for thousands of youth every year.

Our new brand identity is an expression of that evolution and the growth to come for Re:Coded.

Finally, we want to do a huge shout-out to the people behind our new brand and website. The look and feel is developed by our Learning Experience Designer, Ece Çiftçi, alongside UX/UI Designer Kağan Yaldizkaya, and our intern Sara El Kadi. The development was put in the hands of our own alumni and current Re:Coded trainers: Maher Alaqil, Salah Al-Dhaferi, Halit Batur, Allan Saleh , Osama and Muslim Omar. They are real-life heroes who shed sweat and blood for several months to bring this new Re:Coded look to life!.

TL;DR: We color bombed our brand and we hope you love it!

Love, Team Re:Coded. 👍
