Re:Coded ran a 4-week summer bootcamp inside one of Iraq's largest refugee camps - Qushtapa. The program was designed to educate, inspire and provide refugee youth aged 12 - 18 years with the skills and resources to pursue academics and careers in science, technology and engineering sectors (STEM). During the program, students get hands-on experience in computing concepts, programming fundamentals, gaming, and algorithms as well as the softer skills of collaboration, communication, design thinking and problem-solving. We believe coding is a fundamental skill alongside math and reading and this was the first program of it's kind in Iraq!

This program was sponsored by IOM through the support of the US Government.
